A daily 3×3 word puzzle - the quicker, more compact version of Squaredle. Same engaging gameplay, but in a smaller grid for faster completion!
How to Play Squaredle Express
Basic Rules
Goal: Find as many words as possible in the 3×3 letter grid
Minimum length: Words must be at least 3 letters long
Letter connection: Connect adjacent letters (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally)
Letter usage: Each letter can only be used once per word
How to Form Words
Desktop (Mouse)
- Click and drag: Click on the first letter and drag to adjacent letters
- Path creation: You'll see a line connecting your selected letters
- Release to submit: Release the mouse button to submit the word
- Backtrack: Move back to a previous letter to undo your last selection
Mobile (Touch)
- Touch and drag: Touch the first letter and drag your finger to adjacent letters
- Visual feedback: Selected letters will highlight with connecting lines
- Lift to submit: Lift your finger to submit the word
- Smooth movement: Drag smoothly between adjacent letters
Letter Connections
In a 3×3 grid, each letter can connect to its neighbors:
The center letter O can connect to all 8 surrounding letters
Corner letters connect to 3 neighbors • Edge letters connect to 5 neighbors
Animated lines show possible connections from the center

Game Progress
Progress Bar
- Stars fill up as you find more words
- Left number shows words you've found
- Right number shows total words available
- Progress is saved automatically
Words Found
- Words are organized by length (3-letters, 4-letters, etc.)
- Found words appear in alphabetical order within each category
- Bonus words have a yellow background
- Regular answers have a gray background
